Desperately trying to cross the treacherous desert to Miern, Raf is thrown into a dangerous world that his Forest upbringing hasn’t prepared him for a massive, sprawling city, teeming with violence, corruption and intrigue, where he hopes to not only rescue the kidnapped ishranga, but also find a cure for the disease that is ravaging the Forest.

As the very ground underneath them starts falling away, the peaceful villagers must take matters into their own hands.
Raf meets some new, rather mysterious friends, but then unwittingly finds himself at the center of a huge conspiracy, which has consequences that reach far beyond the city limits, and threaten not only his mission in Miern, but his life. With the fate of the dying Forest in his hands, he knows he must find a cure and get back before everything he knows and loves is destroyed.

A friend of mine gave me Melforger and I loved it so much I decided to buy this next book of the series. Disharmony was a quick read with lots of action, some very endearing character moments, and a heck of a lot going on. Like Melforger, there are a few different story lines happening all at once- all beautifully weaved into one. Unlike Melforger, this book is chock-full of action, deceit, and twists. You definitely see a deeper and darker side of some of the characters, which is nicely contrasted with an optimistic glow in others. There are a few new characters introduced which keeps things unpredictable. There's also a bit of funny business as Raf and Cisco become a bit more 'outgoing' with talking to girls.Once again, I enjoyed the separate (but related) plot lines. As soon as I started to become curious about something happening in one plot line, I was quickly thrown into another; this certainly made for a very engaging read. There's also a massive twist at the end. I did not see it coming at all and am left very curious.
I am very much looking forward to the next book. Disharmony cleared up a lot of the questions I had when I finished Melforger, but now I have a whole new set of things to think about. Based on how it ends, there's certainly some darkness coming, so can't wait to see what happens to Raf, his new friends and the village.Disharmony (The Melforger Chronicles) (Volume 2)

Loved this book! In Disharmony, David Lundgren does an excellent job developing the Melforger characters in an action packed coming of age story that stands on its own. With clever plot twists and intricately woven story lines, Disharmony accomplishes what many second books fail to do; it gives enough resolution to feel like a complete story while simultaneously leaving the reader wanting more. I can't wait to see what the next installment of the Melforger Chronicles will bring for Raf and his friends.
A magnificent follow up to the first Melforger. Rag is the most powerful Melforger in the history of his world. Along with a real mixture of friends and diabolical enemies adventure abounds. Fantastic read.
I couldn't wait for 'Disharmony' after having devoured 'Melforger' in only a couple of days! A thrilling piece of fantasy, 'Disharmony' continues to build on a world in which a deeply polarised society faces resoundingly similar struggles to our own. And as the Melforger's journey ascends, profoundly personal tones abound as the therapeutic essence of music works to restore that which seems irreparably corroded. Deep with metaphor, Lundgren's descriptions are vivid to the point of cinematic crispness, scenes bound with adrenalin and rich characters and relationships are woven into the story seamlessly. And after the read is over, I still find myself wishing I could experience the quite awesome world of Raf and his company.
These books are addictive. Like the forest equivalent of Game of Thrones. Love! Tearing through all three in less than a week!
I really enjoyed Melforger and at the end I was curious to see what Raf's journey to Miern would be like. Disharmony did not disappoint. It is full intrigue and adventure, likable characters and intriguing villains. Like Melforger, the side characters turn out to be some of my favorites, including Cisco and Neni. It's fun to have characters to root for. I also enjoyed the fact that things are not always as they appear and there are some really nice twists that kept me on my toes. Now that I finished Disharmony I can't wait for the third installment!!
