‘A smashing writer who really knows how to weave a tale…’ Booksellers’ Choice

Their darkest hour has come…

Corrupt sorcerer Medoc has spread doom throughout the Dark Ireland and taken over Tara, the bright shining beacon of Ancient Ireland.

The time has come to fight back.

High Queen Grainne, descendant of Cormac and Joanna the Time Traveller, calls together her court to create a plan to vanquish Medoc and regain her throne in Tara.

Fergus, head of the Fiana, proposes a mission – to the future. The Time Travellers brought word of the dreadful Apocalypse, ruiner of the future world. Why not chain it and use it? It may be the only power strong enough to defeat the necromancer Medoc.

While Fergus pursues a path to the future, Grainne sets out to find the lost Cruithin and discover ancient magics that have slowly died out since the days of Cormac the Wolfking.

All the while, the legend of the Lost Prince, the heir to the Wolfline and prophesied High King of Ireland holds sway over their heads.

Where is this fabled heir? How shall he come to pass out of a dying bloodline and in a time of war?

Join Grainne and Fergus and their loyal companions as they race against time to defeat Medoc and all the evil he brings to the world from the Dark Ireland. Can they survive the perils in their journey and restore light to the now darkened Tara?

The Lost Prince is an enthralling return to Ancient Ireland and the shining Tara is a triumphal journey for the descendants of beloved characters. Featuring the same vivid storytelling and heroic characters, The Lost Prince is a grand sequel to Wolfking, it was previously published under the pseudonym Bridget Wood.

The Lost Prince Wolfking Series Book 2 eBook Sarah Rayne

I didn't find this sequel as good as the first book. I thought the plot kind of plodded along. There weren't many scenes where the characters seemed to be interacting in a light hearted manner. I know the story has a dire plot so I guess it had to be doom and gloom. The fallen angel is one of the few who seems to be having a good time.

I personally wish the stories would pick up where the previous one had left off so there would be a seamless continuation. I'm not a fan of skipping generations. It's more like starting a whole new storyline. The only things in common are Tara yet again being taken over by the bad guys, the people who are half beast and the fact that it takes place in old Ireland. Oh yeah, and the sidhe. Nasty little creatures.

As in the first book, I had to fast forward through most of the grisly scenes and descriptors. I see that the author also writes horror in addition to fantasy so I think she has confused genres.

Despite this lack of a stellar review, I had already purchased the third volume so will go ahead and read it. The fourth isn't available on Kindle yet so I may pass on it.

The Lost Prince Wolfking Series Book 2 eBook Sarah Rayne Reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, I'd definitely recommend it and the Wolfking as well.
I hope there's another book to come.
I was a fan of the first book of the series Wolfking and looked forward to reading the sequel. This book didn't disappoint in being just as good as the original. I loved Annabel and the People's Queen Grainne, they felt like real people and I enjoyed their characters the most. I hope there is more in the Wolfking series as I've really enjoyed it so far.
“The Lost Prince” Book 2 in the “Wolfking Saga”

A mystical and intriguing tale of an evil wizard Medoc who wants to conquer and wants to spread the evil within the Dark Ireland across the land.

The High Queen Grainne, the peoples queen sends the faithful leader of her forces to find the only power strong enough to defeat Medoc and take what is rightfully her’s.

Sarah Rayne does it again. She brings together her vivid imagination, the tale of the supernatural and sci-fi into an intriguing tale that is set in Ireland.

A story that most readers in this genre will enjoy. Just note there are places in the book that are a little rough.

I received the book from Net Galley. I am not paid for the review.
great book, not as good as the first one but that was hard to beat, wolfking is my fav book, i wish she would write more
